Cajamarca located in northern highlands of Peru, a region quickly becoming synonymous with world-class specialty coffee. Here, among steep slopes and misty cloud forests, smallholder farmers are cultivating coffees of extraordinary quality. This lot, poetically named "Andes Perdido Por Las Flores" ("Lost in the Andes for the Flowers"), is not from a vast estate but from a tiny, secluded farm that embodies this spirit of discovery. 

This micro-lot is the life's work of the Valdivia family at their small farm, which they affectionately call "Finca Perdida" (The Lost Farm). Tucked away at a staggering altitude of 1,800 to 2,000 meters, the farm is a true labour of love. Years ago, the family took a significant risk by planting the notoriously delicate and low-yielding Geisha varietal, believing their unique microclimate could produce something magical. Their gamble paid off. They tend to their coffee plants with meticulous care, focusing on quality over quantity, and their dedication is palpable in every cup. The name "Por Las Flores" pays homage to both the intoxicating floral aroma of the Geisha trees in full bloom and the exquisite floral notes that define the final coffee.

To preserve the pristine and delicate nature of this Geisha, a classic Washed process was implemented. 
Cherries are promptly de-pulped and fermented in cool, clean mountain water for 24-36 hours. The cool ambient temperature at this high altitude slows the fermentation, allowing for the development of complex, subtle acids and aromatic compounds.  
After fermentation, the beans are thoroughly washed to remove any remaining mucilage, resulting in supreme clarity in the cup. They are then slow-dried on raised beds in the shade, a patient process that ensures the delicate floral and fruit notes are locked into the bean.
